It has been a very long time. I check other people's blogs a lot, but I haven't been checking mine. And, I have been realizing why in these past couple of months. I am so happy. Last year I started this because I felt a little lonely, a little empty, and a little overwhelmed so this was my place to get out. Now, I'm so fullfilled, satisfied and totally high on life... and there isn't even a boy.
I love girls. I have always felt like I needed a boyfriend or a BOTM (boy of the moment) along with my girls to make me happy, but I have found in these last six months that they are what cause the maddness and my girls are all I need. From living with 11 other girls, to constantly being with my chapter, to constantly being with my Sweet Sigs I have found that there is nothing like women. We are great. Yeah, sometimes its a little much but I don't care any more. Until this point in my life I have always tried so hard to have a million male friends because I was in Ballet or Theater where boys are few and hard to find, so my group was pretty much half and half. But now, its like 98% women and 2% men and I couldn't be happier. Everything in school is going so right for me... except for all of my classes, but socially everything is where its suposed to be. I realize it has been a while so; LANDMARKS in my past 6 months (but really past four):
1. Beginning Sophomore Year
2. Moving into the House
3. Getting into Sweet Signatures, the FANTASTIC all female A Cappella group at Elon.
4. Julia's visit
5. Being elected (even though i ran unopposed hehe) Alumni Relations Chair for AOII
6. Being elected as the Panhellenic Council Asst. Director of Recruitment to rotate into Director of Recruitment..!!!!!!!
Basically number 3 and number 6 are the big ones.
A Cappella - i love it! I missed singing so much last year and now I do it all the time, amazing.
PHC Recruitment - if you know me then you know I am obsessed with recruitment and everything about it and now the opportunity to not only participate in it for the upcoming years, but run it.... amazing. I couldn't be happier, and more scared. I've never been had such a lon commitment in my life (the longest I think has been a four month long rehearsal and show period?) and I don't know how to handle it. I am so excited and so ready to start! But, the position doesn't start for two whole months, so I have to put my excitement on the back burner.
This is a horrible sporadic post, but thats because i'm no longer trying to be something i'm not, a melo-dramatic teenager who can only expres herself to the unknown... because now I express myself everywhere! And, I turn 20 in 2 days.
What? 20. I can't even believe it. But maybe thats why i'm doing a mini reflection now, because so many landmarks have passed... but that is another discussion for another time.
